Here I go losing friends on facebook again

Someone posted this

And knowing me I cannot shut up if someone’s rights are being stepped on. If you are prolife that’s fine. Its your choice not to have an abortion. But things like that photo and comments like this “ Because people don’t want to have an abortion and think that they’re actually killing a person. It keeps it off the conscience that way.”  upset me.

I replied saying, “A single cell bacteria is self contained it doesn’t need an inhibitor to live on, however an egg does. I find it strange that people don’t care at all about other small celled organisms, or even eggs or sperm as separate being but get those two together and you better risk your live over it”

Funny how all the people who liked/commented/posted that status so far are male. Funny that we kill tons of single living cells all the time but no one gives a crap about them.

If you want to debate that sperm + egg > a single cell do so. But don’t use shit like  see that is life too so you can’t get abortion even if having the kid would kill you. Also don’t be so closed minded to think there is never 100% never a good reason to get an abortion.

The US government will paint Anonymous and hacktivists as ‘terrorists’

Full Article or Video From A Different Source

If you like the group Anonymous or not this is a dangerous thing to do. You can’t just go around calling people terrorists. That shouldn’t be the new buzz word to replace “communist.”  In short this is what the FBI said,

In the not too distant future, we anticipate that the cyber threat will pose the #1 threat to our country,” said FBI director Robert Mueller at the conference. “We need to take lessons learned from terrorism and apply them to cyber crime.”

All right not to bad… lets continue..

Mueller added, “we must work together to safeguard our property, to safeguard our ideas and safeguard our innovation. We must use connectivity to stop those who seek to do us harm.”

So big business and the government should get in bed together. That always ends up well..

“Once-isolated hackers have joined forced to form criminal syndicates,” - Mueller

Anonymous has become a Hydra, I think if the government doesn’t handle this correctly more heads are just going to pop up. Start calling everyone a terrorist and  a criminal syndicate everyone can be locked up.

Oh, you are a hacker? Jail time for you.

Of you follow Anon on twitter? You must be a terrorist too.

If you like the group or not, you cannot turn every crime into “terrorism.”

Also look who the FBI is trying to protect there, big business. I thought you guys were paid by the people. Protect them.

McCain Bill Could Have Military Monitor The Internet

Article From Daily Tech: Republican Senator John McCain’s new cybersecurity bill has caught some negative attention from the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU).

McCain’s cybersecurity bill, which was introduced last week, supports the voluntary sharing of information instead of regulation of “critical industries” by the Department of Homeland Security. The bill also states that private companies, such as Internet service providers, could send the government information regarding network activity or protocols connected to malicious users.

McCain, who constructed the bill with seven other Republicans, said he wanted the National Security Agency, which has powerful spy tools, to be more involved in cybersecurity matters. He also mentioned that cybersecurity centers could use the information they obtain in order to look into cyber crimes.

However, the ACLU believes that McCain’s bill could be problematic. For instance, it worries the ACLU that the bill could give U.S. intelligence agencies access to private emails.

“This is a privacy nightmare that will eventually result in the military substantially monitoring the domestic, civilian Internet,” said Michelle Richardson of the ACLU. “It is absolutely critical that if the government wants to collect information, it go through a civilian agency.”

An anonymous individual working on the bill said there was nothing in the legislation that would allow the sharing of emails that have nothing to do with cyber threats. McCain’s spokesman, Brian Rogers, also defended the bill saying that McCain’s only intentions are to address cybersecurity concerns.

“Senator McCain’s priority in crafting this bill has been to make sure it strengthens oursecurity while continuing to safeguard the privacy of consumers,” said Rogers. “He remains open to addressing legitimate concerns as this process moves forward.”

There is also an alternative to McCain’s bill, which was constructed by Democrats and supported by Majority Leader Harry Reid. This version prefers to leave cybersecurity to DHS. However, an anonymous Senate aide said that neither bill will likely pass, and that a compromise is expected in the “coming weeks.”

Cybersecurity has certainly become a hot topic over the past year especially after hacker groups like Anonymous and LulzSec took advantage of many corporate and government websites. Finding solutions has been a balancing act between protecting critical information on computers and protecting citizens from invasive monitoring.

Arizona Senate approves lying to women to prevent abortions →

fuckyeahplannedparenthood:

somepolitics:

The Arizona Senate on Tuesday approved a bill that would allow doctors withhold information about prenatal problems if it could make the decision to have an abortion more likely.

I don’t really have any words to express how angry this makes me. What is even more upsetting is that a woman introduced this measure.

Barto claimed that a doctor could still be sued if there was evidence of wrongdoing.

“If a doctor intentionally or knowlingly withholds information then a lawsuit could be appropriate,” she said.

Tell us then, what is the point of this measure? It protects doctors from a lawsuit if they knowingly withhold information, but a lawsuit can still be filed if doctors knowingly withhold information? Did I read this correctly or am I missing something? Either way, I hope this shit is reversed.

A doctor should tell someone /all/ the options and risks.

If you want to protect doctors from law suits make sure people are completely informed.

Cause and Effect: How the Media You Consume Can Change Your Life

On International Women’s Day the people from Miss Representation brought us this video.

Step 1: Watch Video (Flawed but it does have a lot of good merits)

Step 2: Learn more about the videos background so you can get the WHOLE picture Article 1 - Article 2

Step 3: Do something. I don’t just mean reblog because tumblr seems to have their shit together. (Or change your db status)  Email your Representatives, hang up flyers if you please.

Other Steps: Donate to Invisible Children (If you still like the charity) or a list of other ones you like prefer.

So this video has gotten a lot of heat in the past few days. Good and Bad. I think this subject is important for a number of reasons. Raising awareness about the LRA and the other crimes in this area is a good thing. Even if you don’t like the Invisible Children charity you cannot deny that this video has got people to see the LRA and the troubles over there from Uganda to the Congo.

Maybe all this cause needs is enough attention to our leaders to keep the 100 men that are there already there. They need to know that you cannot just hide until the pressure goes away.

“Now I want to talk about something that really upsets me. Rush Limbaugh reported about this in Oct of last year saying, “Lord’s Resistance Army are Christians. So that’s a new war, a hundred troops to wipe out Christians in Sudan, Uganda.” To be fair Rush always upsets me but what really gets me here is that people do religion wrong.

The bad guys of the world should know that abuse, rape, and killing is not acceptable. It doesn’t matter if you are waving a “christian” flag. Anyone can see that Kony isn’t a moral person.

I hope that this video and all the discussion around it causes people to see not only the infamous nature of Kony but see the dynamic of that area in general.
